Growing & Maintenance Tips for Aster novae-angliae 'Alma Potschke'
Before July, pinch plants to maintain a cushion effect, or support with stake. Most asters will be troubled much less with powdery mildew when grown in a moist, rich soil. Thin out young plants to maintain good air circulation to deter rot. To maintain vigour, divide plants every two to four years. Do NOT divide in the fall! Remove only the dead foliage in the spring.
